Belt of Truth

 Greetings,

The first installment of our Armor of God series is the Belt of Truth, Truth had to come first.  The Belt of truth if a key piece of our armor.    

As followers of YHVH & Yeshua, we should be dedicated to the truth, the whole truth & nothing but the truth

The belt of truth provides spiritual protection, freedom and preparedness for spiritual battles against deception.  The enemy has been working overtime 

When we are asked to give an answer, we must always be prepared (1 Peter 3:15).  We need to have a clear understanding of our faith so that we can quote scripture when we are taken to task when we are told "you don't have to do that anymore or why do you do that?

Yeshua says in John 14:6-I am the way, the truth and the life.  Yeshua is the absolute truth because he is the living and true God. 

Yeshua is the exclusive path to the father, providing a way for people to connect to God.  No one comes to the father except thru Yeshua.  (John 14:6)

The truth will set us free.  (John 8:32)

The foundation of thy word is truth and every one of they righteous judgements endures forever.  (Ps. 119:160)

Prov. 12:19-The lips of truth are forthright but the tongue of a lying witness is wicked. 

Eph. 4:25-You must put away from you lying and speak the truth, every man with his neighbor, for we are members of of another. 

John 17:17-O Father, sanctify them in thy truth, because they word is truth. 

1 John 2:4-He who says I know him and doesn't keep his commandment is a liar and the truth isn't in him.

By holding to the truth, we are fearing God and keeping his commandments.  (Ps. 111:10)  There was only one set of commandments at the time of the old testament & the new testament-the Torah.  The new testament wasn't written until much later. 

So, put on the belt of truth and make sure it's fastened.  Yeshua is coming and we need to be ready.

Armor of God series

 Happy Sabbath from Iowa!

Can you believe that Yom Teruah or Feast of Trumpets is one month from tonight?  I was outside a little bit ago & there is a slight smell of fall in the air.  Fall is my season, the warm days, the cool, crisp evenings, the changing colors of the leaves.  If I could live in one season year around, it would be fall.  I hope you are planning a wonderful sukkot/feast somewhere.  I'm heading to Wisconsin Dells with a group from Illinois.  If you are undecided, here is a website that has many feast sites around the US & the world.

When you think the Armor of God, I'm betting you think Ephesians 6 comes to mind.  And yes, that is where the Armor of God is gone into depth.  But, did you know that the Armor of God is spoken of elsewhere too?

Isa. 59.17-He put on righteousness as a breastplate and a helmet of salvation on his head.  He put on garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal as a mantle.

2 Cor. 6:7-In the word of Truth, in the power of God; by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left.  

1 John 5:18-For the weapons of our warfare aren't of the flesh but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds.  

Ps. 37:39-But the salvation of the righteous is from YVHV.  He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.  

Rom. 16:20-And the God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet.  The grace of Yeshua be with you.

Ps. 119:160-All of your words are truth, Every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever.

Ps. 145:18-YHVH is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Rom. 13:14-Put on Yeshua and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts. 

1 Thess. 5:8-Since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of righteousness and the helmet of salvation.

Heb. 4:12-For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any 2 edged sword, piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 

Prov.  30.:5-Every word of God is test, he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.  

Rom. 13:12-The night is almost gone and the day is near.  Let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 

So you see, we are told many times to put on the Armor of God.  We need to be prepared always to defend our faith, to give an answer and stand ready for the return of Yeshua to this earth.  

Over the next 7 weeks, I'm going to be going into depth about each piece of the armor.  There are 6 pieces but the 7th is prayer that ties it all together.  

As each fall festival, comes around, there will be study entries for those as well.
